I am a Master’s student in the Natural Resource and Environmental Studies (NRES) program under supervision of Dr. Eduardo Martins. My main research area of interest is the ecology of anadromous fishes and the relationships between forestry and freshwater habitat. Since 2015 my work has focused on the design and execution of fish habitat restoration and enhancement projects aimed at conserving salmonid populations. My research with the Freshwater Fish Ecology  Laboratory is exploring the spatial ecology of juvenile Chinook Salmon (Oncorhynchus Tshawytscha) in logging impacted watersheds on the west coast of Vancouver Island (WCVI), to better understand the early life histories and limiting factors to survival of WCVI Chinook salmon. This project is a partnership with the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, funded by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and is part of a larger regional effort to identify route causes of salmon declines in the area.
